Got REST??!! SharePoint 2010 now provides REST for every List, along with SOAP based web services, all out of the box. While of course not exclusive to SharePoint, the advent of REST services allows us to deliver solutions from our Enterprise data quicker at a lower barrier-to-entry.
REST (Representational State Transfer) is an architectural style returning XML data in ATOM format where we can build solutions that can make requests to the services, or end points. This data can then be consumed easily through JavaScript/JQuery, among others, with designer tools allowing Business Power Users to develop solutions quicker to a larger audience.
In this session we'll cover SharePoint's REST interface implementation, what the returned data format is, and then how to manipulate it on the web to meet end user’s needs.
